Belin McCormick

The attorneys at Belin McCormick recognize the importance of regularly engaging in pro bono work. The firm encourages its attorneys to meet or exceed all of the applicable American Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association pro bono standards and recommendations.

Our pro bono commitment is grounded in our sense of responsibility to the Greater Des Moines community, especially to those who are otherwise unable to afford access to legal services.  To that end, a rotating Belin attorney spends an afternoon volunteering at Iowa Legal Aid office each week, assisting their staff attorneys with their intake process.  In addition, several of our attorneys volunteer each month to serve at the HOLA Center, performing legal intake and working on pro bono cases that serve the Latino community in the Des Moines metropolitan area.  Further, many of our firm’s attorneys volunteer their time working on cases through the Polk County Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Project.  Our attorneys also currently serve on the boards of organizations devoted to the interests of persons with disabilities and the homeless, utilizing their legal expertise for the greater good on a pro bono basis.

Whether through these formalized programs or through independent initiative, the attorneys at Belin McCormick are committed to using their time and other resources to help those in need and better our community.
